Why is there no A or B drive in a computer?

- May 14, 2018
You have ever wondered why there is no A or B drive in a Windows computer. Is there a coding in a computer drive that starts coding only with a C drive?
There are no two opinions that technology comes to be easy by the arrival of the mobile but the computer has its own importance. Large screen, an effective board and a small mouse makes it seem easy to work even bigger. Not only that, heavy work still happens on computer only.

This is the reason why despite being mobile in the hands, people and computers in the office and computers are definitely preferred. Large hard drives have a lot of data store which can be used for years. In the computer c drive keeps softwares and D & E keep the data. If you wish, you can also create other drives, including E and F.

But among all these you have ever wondered why there is no A or B drive in a Windows computer. Is there a coding in a computer drive that starts coding only with a C drive?

No. It's not like that. There is a fun story behind this. Or say a trend that nobody had ever thought about but walked by itself. So let's tell you story about A and B drives.

Let me tell you that the answer is hidden in the old computer. If you ever get a chance, definitely check out the old computer. Initially when the computer was released, they did not have internal stores. None of the things could be saved in the computer. To save data was to put an external floppy disk drive separately. Instead, when you used to do the computer, it was also necessary to run this floppy disk first. The drive in which these floppy disks were found were called drive 'A'.
At the beginning, the 5 1/4 inch floppy disk used in the A drive slot. Later the second disk drive was created for the computer, which was smaller than the old one. The size of this drive was 3 1/2 inch. The drive in which this floppy disk was found was named B drive. To run these two floppy disks, there were two types of drives in the computer called Drive 'A' and Drive 'B'. Even today, when you take desktops, they are set for these two drives. Those who leave you blank.

After the 1980's, the computer was running hard drive. Due to the low risk of easy storage, inbuilt convenience and data loss, soon hard drive was able to get a permanent place in the computer and it got status of third-class drive. Since then the hard drive has been called a C drive in the computer. Later the memory increased and the partition of hard drive was started and people were setting the D, E and F drive in the C drive itself. Since then, the computer's operating system is installed in the C drive.
