It has been seen with the latest update version 8.5.20. The Gmail user first had to do action by default, now it will have left, right swipe.
This development was first seen by the Android Police and claimed that it came with latest updates. It started rolling out on 30th May. For swipe, the user has to go to Settings - General - Swipe.
